'Crows feet' is the term used to describe the formation of wrinkles around the corner of the eye. These often develop due to our expression - more so in people who are hyper expressionate. This is where we use the muscles in our face in exaggerated way, often when speaking or smiling. This is completely out of our control but as a result, there are formations of fine lines where the skin folds during muscle contraction. As this repeats over a period of time static lines form - these are lines in which remain even when our face is neutral and can often make someone appear older than they really are. Such static lines are also formed by natural occurrence. As we age, protein such as elastin are lost which in turn affects the firmness of our skin.
There are a number of factors in which contribute towards the formation of crows feet. Limiting your sun exposure and wearing sun screen can dramatically reduce the appearance of these lines and also moisturizing your skin daily to ensure optimum skin health. Living a healthy life style, following a nutritious diet can also help reduce this as well as avoiding smoking and heavy drinking.
At Klink we aim to treat crows feet with a simple procedure. Using the same treatment we use for forehead wrinkles, botulinum toxin is injected around the eye area. This reduces signalling between nerves within this area therefore allowing for decreased muscle contraction and no line formation. In some cases dermal filler can also be used to dissolve this. Before and After
“The skin around the eyes is extremely delicate as it is around 40% thinner than the rest of our face. This is one of the areas we are likely to notice the signs of ageing early and can make us look tired and sad even when we don’t feel it. I can use a combination of treatment including skin care, anti-wrinkle injections and/or dermal fillers to restore, rejuvenate and revitalise. ”

Forehead
Crowsfeet (the side of the eyes)
Frownline (between the brows)
It is reccomended to treat all 3 areas, as isolating one can mean that you start overusing another. Causing more lines to form.
