What are lip lines and what can we do to treat them?
Lip lines also referred to as lip wrinkles and smokers lines are the formation of vertical lines which form on the top lip. This is often caused by the contraction and relaxation of the top lip causing a fold in the skin. Over time this can cause the formation of static lines that are apparent even on relaxation. Sun damage can also effect this where the skin under goes premature ageing. Applying factor 50 everyday can reduce this dramatically. At Klnik, we have a number of treatments that can cause lip line reduction. These include:
Anti wrinkle injections - can be used to reduce the muscle movement of the top lip. working in the same way as other anti wrinkle treatments, causing a softening of the lines.
Dermal filler - in some cases a light dermal filler can be injected into the lines to reduce the appearance.
Harmony ca/profilo - skin boosters can help rehydrate and improve the appearance of the skin.
