What are scars and what can we do to treat them?
Scars appear after an injury has healed and are characterised by indentation fo the skin, pigmentation and uneven appearance. This occurs due to the the rush of collagen to the area as a natural bodily response to aid in tissue repair. This can cause the scar to become lumpy and raised however this usually decreases as time goes on. However, sometimes this isn't the case and so we look for treatments to resolve this. At Klnik we offer a range of treatments to suit your needs.
M22 laser - This works by removing the top layer of the scar, allowing for collagen to reform in a more organized structure.
PRP - The use of platelet rich plasma to rejuvenate the skin, promoting further healing in the area.
Cannula subcison - Often scars can form from illness such as chicken poxs. In this case, an indentation is left in the skin and is more visible in certain lighting. Cannula subcison is then used to release the scar tissue from the surface of the skin which therefore reduces the indent impression. A small amount of soft filler can be place underneath the area too to give more fullness. This can also be carried for acne scarring and has had some phenomenal results here at Klnik!
