Although not a medical issue, cellulite can make you feel self-conscious or embarrassed. According to reports, the condition, which makes the skin on the buttocks and backs of thighs appear bumpy and dimpled, affects more than 85% of adult women. Cellulite can stop you from wearing the clothes you desire and lower your self esteem. Using Cellfina® at KLNIK, we can make you feel confident again, banishing away unwanted dimples and lumps, helping you feel back to your best. Hormones also seem to play a role in the appearance of cellulite: As women age, their bodies produce less oestrogen, a hormone that helps keep blood vessels flowing smoothly. Less oestrogen can mean poorer circulation, which can also mean a decrease in new collagen production and the breakdown of older connective tissue. There is also a common misconception that diet and exercise will solely reduce cellulite, allowing you to target areas specifically, whilst this may help to reduce the appearance slightly, being physically fit does not make you less likely to develop cellulite.
Cellulite is caused by the connective tissue bands known as fibroseptae, woven throughout fat in the thighs and buttocks. These tight bands pull down the skin, creating the puckering you see on the surface of the skin. Similar to a rubber band under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out in as little as three days. Cellfina® is the first long-lasting, minimally invasive solution proven to smooth away dimples for at least three years in a single treatment. FDA-cleared, the Cellfina® process is a minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite, the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina® combines a proven approach with innovative and proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results. The essential advantage of using Cellfina? The procedure does not involve being in a hospital operating theatre or having general anaesthesia. It relies on a minimally invasive, small device to treat the cellulite-causing bands just beneath the surface of the skin.
During the hour-long procedure, Dr Rosh will be able to treat on average, 20 to 30 dimples using Cellfina. This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, using only a local anaesthetic to ensure your comfort throughout treatment. KLNIK prides itself on using the best available practices and technology available in modern cosmetics, other available devices that have purported to get rid of cellulite using laser or radio-frequency energy, have only produced mild to moderate benefits. The revolutionary Cellfina procedure has been highlighted in publications such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, with superb results in reducing the appearance of cellulite in just one treatment session, with less discomfort or trauma to the skin and surrounding tissue than any other cellulite treatment today. Most cellulite treatments produce temporary effects that do not change the underlying structure of cellulite.
Cellfina, on the other hand, targets the architecture of the skin and the fat associated with cellulite, safely, accurately and with longer lasting results show by Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale studies. During the procedure, there is some mild discomfort as the local anaesthetic is given but this is usually described as 4 out of 10 pain rating, patients will not feel any discomfort after as they will be numb in these areas. Typically, the entire buttock and thigh area can be addressed during the treatment session, depending on the amount of dimpling in the area. Patients are able to return home shortly after their procedure. Compression garments which are provided in your aftercare pack are generally recommended during the first few days after treatment to stimulate healing in the area and enhance the overall results of the procedure. Showers may be taken, although hot baths are discouraged for a number of days. The most common side effects patients might experience include soreness, tenderness and bruising, which will all subside on their own in the days following the procedure.
For two weeks post-treatment, you should wear compression garments as often as possible, such as yoga pants or bike shorts. You should limit your exercise for three to four days after the procedure and avoid swimming and sun exposure for about a week. Bruising is common in the area. You may slowly resume working out a week after your procedure. Results are seen at three months and continue to improve up to a year.
Results of Cellfina can be seen almost right away. The treated area will look smoother, with a visible reduction in dimpling and other cellulite symptoms. While the device has been approved for results that last two years, many patients may enjoy their results for much longer. Once the fibrous bands are cut, evidence to date demonstrates that the dimpled appearance will not return to that area.
You will be provided with your own bespoke aftercare pack which provides all the dressings, consumables and detailed written information you may require. You will also receive ongoing support from our dedicated team.
“I have always suffered with cellulite since I was a teenager. It began to affect my confidence and over time has prevented me from simple activities. As a mother I felt self-conscious taking my son swimming and avoided wearing outfits on certain occasions. I have worked in the beauty industry for over 15 years and have tried every lotion & potion available, nothing worked, and my problem remained persistent. Since having Cellfina, my confidence has been restored, now I don’t have to worry about prepping before going to holiday and I won’t feel shy on the beach. Cellfina has eased my worries. I was drawn to Cellfina as I found it was the only clinically proven cellulite treatment available, Dr Rosh reassured me and made me feel so comfortable during consultation and my treatment, letting me know that over 85% of adult women suffer from cellulite like myself. The treatment was virtually pain free and I was able to return to work, the following day.” – Natasha, Cheshire
